Journey Through

The Hereafter
Introduction
• In Islam, the journey of a believing
and disbelieving soul involves distinct
phases, unfolding after death and
leading to eternal consequences.
• These consequences include time in
the scolding and burning hellfire or
time in the serene gardens of
paradise.
At the time of death.

• At the moment of death, believers

experience a serene transition,
accompanied by angels who gently extract
their souls. However, disbelievers undergo
a more turbulent departure, facing harsh
treatment as their souls are forcefully
extracted. When either believer or
disbeliever dies they see 2 black angels
arriving before them.
Journey to the Heavens
• At first the 2 angels will take your soul through a group of angels and judging
by if you had a good life the angels will say ‘Oh what a nice fragrance’ similar
to the smell of Oud and Itr however if you have had a bad life denying the
message with sins along the way the angels say ‘What is that revolting odour’
similar to the smell of dead animals and rotten meat.
• Upon reaching the heavens, believers are welcomed with open arms, their deeds
weighed on a divine scale. The righteous find solace in the mercy of God, and
their good actions are rewarded with entry into Paradise. In contrast,
disbelievers are confronted with the consequences of their sins and
transgressions, leading to a descent into Hell, where punishment awaits.
The questioning In the
grave
• The questioning in the grave is a pivotal phase
for both believers and disbelievers. The righteous
encounter a gentle and reassuring interrogation,
answering questions about their faith and deeds
with ease. In contrast, disbelievers face a
formidable inquisition, marked by discomfort
and terror as their misdeeds are laid bare.
Reward and punishment in the
grave

• The grave becomes a place of comfort or torment

based on one's faith and actions. Believers find
solace in a spacious and illuminated resting place,
a precursor to the eternal bliss of Paradise.
Disbelievers, however, endure the constriction
and darkness of a punishing grave, foreshadowing
the everlasting torment that awaits them in Hell.
Conclusion
• In essence, the journey of the
believing and disbelieving soul in
Islam is a profound and
transformative passage, culminating
in either eternal reward or
punishment based on the choices
made during their earthly existence.
