"EUTROFILTER: ADVANCING WATER

QUALITY THROUGH SEDIMENTATION

REDUCTION AND ALGAL BLOOM
PREVENTION IN WASTEWATER"

1
INTRODUCTION

• Creating an improved wastewater filtration model will prevent algal

bloom and reduce sedimentation in bodies
‘- of water. The user’s
guide will serve as a manual, providing safety instructions in
operating the Eutro-Filter.

2
OBJECTIVES
The general objective of this study is to examine if the provided eutro-filteration can help the community
in minimizing the waste water in the area. The specific objectives of the study are as follows:

i. To provide a wastewater filtering strategy that keeps water bodies from

blooming algae and minimizes sedimentation.
‘-

ii. To provide consumers a guide and safety guidelines so they can operate
then utilize the EutroFilter.

iii. To provide the community with clean and usable water from wastewater.

• Sand
• Activated Charcoal

4
ABSTRACT

• A filter used in sewage systems to remove particles from runoff

that is directly released into bodies of water. The device is made
up of three main layers: a layer of pebbles ‘- that is intended to
collect visible elements found in sewage water; a layer of sand
that can trap bigger molecules; and a chamber filled with activated
charcoal that is responsible for adsorbing tiny particles.
