BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

The purpose of this research is to make
learning about heading indicator more
approachable and useful so as to
enhance the effectiveness of students.

This will not only help aviation colleges

but also improve or familiarize to the
instruments.

The moving parts, such as the gyro, gears, and compass 3.81 SA
card, are visible as an instructional material.
The servo of the heading indicator simulates the 3.81 SA
movements like turning right and turning left.
The prototype design protects the wires and gears safe, so 3.73 SA
they work well in different environments.
The design of the prototype includes the necessary 3.90 SA
components such as a gyro, gears, and compass card,
serving their intended purpose as instructional materials.

The gyro starter can easily place and make the gyro spin. 3.73 SA

The servo moves when interacting with the potentiometer. 3.54 SA

The labels and information about the heading indicator clear 3.54 SA
and easy to understand in the prototype.
The prototype interactive elements (e.g., knobs) used for 3.54 SA
adjustment or calibration are user-friendly.

The recalibration process using the adjustment knob are easy to 3.45 SoA
use.
The prototype performs in continuous operation and testing over 3.73 SA
an extended duration.

The prototype is resistant to wear and tear over an extended 3.54 SA

period of use
The prototype imitates the idea of an actual heading indicator. 3.36 SoA

The gyro performs(spin) long enough to demonstrate how the 3.82 SA

components of the heading indicator works.

 The heading indicator was
prototype of a heading indicator. The researchers developed
evaluated by the AET and AMT instructors at
a prototype of a heading indicator that can act as an

instructional material. The researchers used Arduino uno for the Philippine State College of Aeronautics

CONCLUSION
Based on the results and findings, the following conclusions were drawn:

1. The design of the heading indicator provides an instructional material for students and instructors of

Philippine State College of Aeronautics FAB Campus.

2. The components used such as the Arduino Uno, potentiometer, Gyroscope, servo leads to the development

of heading indicator.

3. The operation manual for heading indicator includes how it is operated and safety precautions of the

prototype. The methods required to construct the prototype was performed by the researchers effectively.

4. Moreover, the rating of the prototype during the evaluation was excellent. The prototype was evaluated with

remarkable performance in terms of design, usability, and reliability.

RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the results and assessments, the following recommendations are hereby

presented:

1. Making the gyroscope move freely without the use of servo or making the top case

move left and right instead of the gyro only, as it will help to demonstrate effectively on

how the gyro works when facing different situation.

2. Adding gimbal will also good as it will show not just the left and right motion of the

gyro, but also the up and down motion of the gyro, and shows how the heading

indicator will work when it moves in different axis.

CHAPTER I CHAPTER II CHAPTER III CHAPTER IV

RECOMMENDATIONS

3. For future researchers, changing the gears into metal or stronger alternative will

be better as It will make the prototype stronger and more accurate than before,

and make the adjustment knob as one.

4. Making the gyro, and other components automatically driven by electric can help

to minimize the work in operating the prototype, lesser work, more efficiency it will

give.
