What Are Automated Systems?

Automated Systems are a combination of software and hardware that is designed and
programmed to work automatically without the need of any human intervention. However, these
systems involve human supervision. They make the use of Sensors, Microprocessors, and
Actuators.

•Sensors are input devices which interprets readings from its surrounding and sends this data to
microprocessors

•The microprocessor will process the data and take the necessary actions based on its
programming

•The actuator is the output device that would take the necessary actions

How is Automated Systems used in Transport

Automated systems in Transport refers to robotic system (such as, autonomous trains,
autonomous planes/cars). Automated systems in transport include autonomous vehicles like self-
driving cars and trucks, enhancing safety and efficiency. Public transportation adopts automated
trains and buses for improved reliability. Smart traffic lights and Intelligent Transportation
Systems optimize traffic flow, reducing congestion. In logistics, automated warehousing employs
robots and AGVs for efficient sorting and handling of goods. These technologies collectively
streamline transportation, enhance safety, and contribute to more sustainable and responsive
mobility solutions. Such as (RB-THERON).
