“Text messaging’s a contribution to the emergence of a modern
linguistic subculture”
I chose this topic because of the following reasons:
a. I want to know the words/ terminologies invented because
of using text messaging, how are these words are accepted
by different group of people;
b. I want to find out the positive not just the negative effects of
using text messaging in developing students’ linguistic
ability; and
c. I want to understand the possible outcome of continuous use
of text messaging to the linguistic skills of our students.
• As a language teacher, the result from
this research will help me
professionally to be able to cope up
with the change and to develop better
strategies in teaching my students.
