THE CODE — SIMPLE FACTS
 There are 114 chapters (in Arabic, suras) in the
Quran, or 19 x 6.
 The total number of verses in the Quran is
6346, or 19 x 334.
 When you add the 30 different numbers which
are mentioned in the Quran’s text: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 19, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70,
80, 99, 100, 200, 300, 1000, 2000, 3000, 5000,
50000 and 100000 (i.e., one God, two brothers,
etc.), the total is 162146 or 19 x 8534.
THE CODE — SIMPLE FACTS
 The first statement in Quran, “In the name of
God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful” consists of
19 Arabic letters. Known as the “Basmalah”, it
prefaces every chapter except Chapter 9.

 Each word in the Basmalah occurs in the


Quran a number of times that is a multiple of
19.

 The first word “Ism” (name) occurs 19 times

 The second word “Allah” (God) occurs 2698


times or 19 x 142.

 The third word “Al-Rahman” (Most Gracious)


occurs 57 times or 19 x 3.

occurs 114 times or 19 x 6.

‫ِبٱْلَغ ْيِبۖ َو َيُقوُلوَن َس ْبَع ٌۭة َو َثاِم ُنُهْم َك ْلُبُهْم ۚ ُقل َّر ِّبٓى َأْع َلُم ِبِع َّد ِتِهم َّم ا َيْع َلُم ُهْم‬
‫ِإاَّل َقِليٌۭل ۗ َفاَل ُتَم اِر ِفيِهْم ِإاَّل ِمَر ٓاًۭء َظٰـ ِهًۭر ا َو اَل َتْس َتْفِت ِفيِهم ِّم ْنُهْم َأَح ًۭد ا‬
 Some will say, “They were three, their dog was the fourth,”
while others will say, “They were five, their dog was the
sixth,” ˹only˺ guessing blindly. And others will say, “They
were seven and their dog was the eighth.” Say, ˹O
Prophet,˺ “My Lord knows best their ˹exact˺ number. Only a
few people know as well.” So do not argue about them
except with sure knowledge,1 nor consult any of those ˹who
debate˺ about them.

MIRACLE OF NUMBERS
 Article from “Islam and Science”.
 “For the last twenty years, different scholars,
such as Abderrazzaq Nufal, Bassám
Jarrar, Abdu A-Daim Kuhail, among others,
have studied the miracle of numbers of the
Holy Quran.
MIRACLE OF NUMBERS
 We present here some examples of the Miracle of
the Quran:
 The Word “shahr” (month) is mentioned 12
times in the Quran, just as the number of month
there are in a year.
 The word “yawm” (day), in singular, is
mentioned 365 times in the Quran, just as
the number of days there are in a year.
 The word “ayyam” (days), in plural, is
mentioned 30 times in the Quran, just as
the number of days there are in a month.
MIRACLE OF NUMBERS
 The word “bahr” (water) is mentioned 32 times in the Quran.
 The word “barr / ard” (earth) is mentioned 13 times in the
Quran. Both words in Arabic mean “earth”.
 If we add the number both words “bahr” (water) and “barr”
(earth), we get the number 45.
 (“water” = 32 times + “earth” = 13 times = 45 times)
 Now, we’ll do a quick calculation in order to obtain its
percentages:
 The number of words “bahr” (water) divided by the total
number of words “earth+water”, multiplied by 100% gives:
 (32 / 45 ) x 100 = 71,1111%
 The total of words “barr” (earth) divided by the total number of
words “earth+water”, and multiplied by a 100% gives:
 (13 / 45) x 100 = 28,8888%

lived in Baghdad(Gift of
God) in the early ninth
century. Baghdad at
that time was at cultural
crossroads, and, under
the patronage of the
Abbasid caliphs, the so-
called House of
Wisdom at Baghdad,
produced a Golden Age
of Arabic science and
mathematics. In
Baghdad, scholars
encountered and built
upon the ideas of
ancient Greek and
Indian mathematicians
BAYT AL-HIKMA
 There, al-Khwarizmi encountered the Indian
numeral system (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9), and he
wrote a treatise on what we call Arabic numerals. It
was translated into Latin in the twelfth century as
Algoritmi de numero Indorum (that is, Al-Khwarizmi
on the Hindu Art of Reckoning) and was crucial in
the introduction of Arabic numerals to medieval
Europe. It may well represent the first use of zero
as a positional place holder. From that title, we
have the word "algorithm."
