Introduction

In recent years, the metro system has advanced into an efficient transport system and become
the mainstay of urban passenger transport in many megacities. Passenger flow is the
foundation of making and coordinating operation plans for the metro system.

Metro stations in Package-05 of GMRC are:

 Bhesan Station  Performing Art Centre  Majura Gate Station

 Botanical Garden Station  Adajan Gam Station
 Udat Vaarigruh Station  Aquarium Station
 Palanur Road Station  Badri Narayan Sataion
 LP Savani School Station  Athwa Chopati Station
Foundation Components of Metro Station

Pile:
• Long, sturdy column-like structure made of concrete, steel, or timber. Driven or inserted deep into the
ground to support the weight of the metro station's infrastructure.
• Provide stability by transferring the loads from the station's columns and foundations to the stable soil or
rock below the surface.
Pile Cap:
• Strong, flat concrete platform that sits on top of a group of piles.
• Distributes the loads from the station's columns or piers to the piles, ensuring a stable foundation.
• Prevent uneven settlement and help keep the station's superstructure level and secure.
Pier:
• A vertical support element that holds up the platforms or concourses of the metro station.
• Made of concrete or steel and provides the necessary strength to withstand the weight of the station's
structure and the loads from passengers and trains.

Pier Cap:
• A horizontal concrete platform that connects multiple piers together.
• Acts as a support for the station's beams or girders, distributing the loads and providing
stability for the roof or platform structure above.

Conclusion

Through these drawings, I have clearly understood the station's site plan, layout, and key
dimensions. The careful consideration of passenger flow, safety features, and accessibility ensures a
smooth and efficient travel experience for commuters. The integration of various functional zones
and facilities, such as ticketing areas, platforms, escalators, and elevators, highlights the commitment
to passenger convenience and comfort.
