Conclusions

1. The results achieved in this study demonstrate the environmental


advantages of obtaining calcium carbonate from oyster shells
compared to the traditional process. The main impacts of the
process are associated with electricity consumption and emission of
gases during the calcination process, so actions should be taken to
mitigate them and explore the possibility of using renewable energy
sources
2. t is noted that the use of these waste materials by Epicai company
favors a strategy based on the Circular Economy
