1.3. MORAL BEHAVIOUR

INTRODUCTION:
 A moral agent is a fundamental concept in ethical
philosophy, representing an entity, often a person,
endowed with the capacity to make moral decisions
and bear responsibility for their actions. This report
delves into the key attributes, responsibilities, and
implications associated with being a moral agent.
Attributes of a Moral Agent:
 MORAL AGENT
-A moral agent is a person who has the ability to discern right from
wrong and to be held accountable for his or her own actions. Moral
agents have a moral responsibility not to cause unjustified harm.
Traditionally, moral agency is assigned only to those who can be held
responsible for their actions. Children, and adults with certain mental
disabilities, may have little or no capacity to be moral agents.
Adults with full mental capacity relinquish their moral agency only in
extreme situations, like being held hostage. Indeed, future philosophers
and legal scholars will need to consider moral agency as it applies to
these situations and others.
Morals Examples:
Some examples of absolute moral principles include: Don't kill.
Speak the truth. Be careful with what you say and do to others.
Respect the property of others. Treat people in need or distress as
we would want to be treated if our situation were reversed
 Culture
- Moral culture refers to the shared beliefs, values, customs,
and practices within a society or community that guide
individuals' behavior and interactions with others. It
encompasses principles of right and wrong, ethical conduct,
and the cultivation of virtues such as honesty, integrity,
compassion, and empathy. Cultural norms and traditions often
shape a society's moral framework, influencing how
individuals perceive and respond to moral dilemmas and
challenges.
What is moral example?

Morality examples:
-morality include being honest, treating
others with respect, helping those in need,
and adhering to laws and social norms.
While there are many different interpretations
of morality, all societies have some form of
moral code that guides their members.
What are the 12 moral code of ethics?
Generally, there are about 12 ethical principles:
honesty, fairness, leadership, integrity,
compassion, respect, responsibility, loyalty,
law-abiding, transparency, and
environmental concerns.
 Moral behavior
-In ethics, moral behavior refers to a physical action
or attitude that aligns with the principles of a specific
ethical system. This is important because moral
behavior is where the theories of ethics become
applied to the real world, as opposed to the morality
of thoughts and ideas which may remain private.
Additionally, ethical leadership and role modeling
contribute to a culture that values and upholds moral
behavior.
What are the four types of moral behavior?
-There are four components of moral
behavior: moral sensitivity, moral
judgment, moral motivation, and
moral character. To make moral
assessments, one must first know what an
action is intended to accomplish and what
its possible consequences will be on
others.
