LEARNING ACTIVITY 2

   Activity #2
Guide questions: (20 points)
1. What is your own definition of art? Art Appreciation?
-art is everything. It can be living or non-living, because anything you see
and feel is possibly created by humans, animals, mother earth, especially GOD.
However, art appreciation relates to the investigation and evaluation of the artistic
media to which we are exposed. It can be very subjective and based on a person's
personal likes and tastes, or it can be done using a variety of criteria, such as the
design and technical skills that are on display in the item.

2. Explain the process of imagination, creativity and expression?

- Creativity is the ability to produce an idea in a novel or new way. The
expression of novel (new) approaches in stories and problem solving, or visual
presentations. And imagination is a ability to see objects, objectives and interest in
things not readily seen or observed. Note the word ‘see’ as opposed to produce
from creativity, and last is expression, it is the actual act of producing a product
from the combination of the above two.

3. Why is art not nature?

- The first reason why art is not nature is that art is a product of the artist's
imagination. It doesn't exist in the real world until the artist creates it. Nature, on
the other hand, has always existed and will continue to exist long after we are
gone.

4. Why does art involve experience?

- Because artistic renditions of self-expression reflect your life and
experience, even if the works are fantasy and imagination; they create upon
imagery you have learn. It is impossible to illustrate something your mind cannot
formulate.
Activity # 3 Cultural mapping

Look around your house and identify a product of art. Capture it and paste it in Microsoft
word in your computer or Cellular phone the product of art in your household. Trace the
beginning of this item and identify what functions it has played in history ( e.g., a painting
of the Last supper in your dining room or a spoon, or a chair in your living room, etc..)

This katana belongs to my father Manolito Cabansag and it is said that their
mother gave it to him because he was the youngest child born. At that time there was
still a war going on so they needed fighting equipment and this katana was one of the
tools left by their ancestors. But when I was young it started to rust so my father
covered it with electrical tape to keep it metallic. So it is one of the most hidden and well
cared for by my father.
