SUN and STARS
● Sun and stars are NATURAL
sources of both heat and
light.
● Sun is our major source of
light during the day.
● Stars light up the sky during
the night.

the sun.
FIRE
Fire also gives
off heat and
light.
FIREFLIES
● They are also
known as
lightning bugs.
● Fireflies produce
light in their
bodies.
ANGLER FISH and
JELLYFISH
● Angler fish have a
lighted, dangling lure.
● Jellyfish light up
because they use it as a
defense against
predators.
MUSHROOM
● Mushrooms use
(luciferins) light-
emitting compounds
found in other
glowing animals and
plants to attract
insects.
