ROTATION ANGLE
ROTATIONAL KINEMATICS
Rotational Kinematics is the description
of motion. It is concerned with the
description of motion without regard to
force or mass. From the word, you can
describe that it’s all about any object
that can rotate or spin. It’s different
from linear motion when object simply
moves forward.
The kinematics of rotational motion
describes the relationships among
rotation angle (θ), angular velocity
(ω), angular acceleration (α), and
time (t). You will find that
translational kinematic quantities,
such as displacement, velocity, and
acceleration have direct analogs in
rotational motion.
ROTATION ANGLE
The rotation angle is a measure of
the amount of rotation an object
undergoes. It represents the change
in orientation of an object from its
initial position to its final position.
The rotation angle is usually
measured in radians or degrees.
ANGULAR
VELOCITY
Angular velocity is a measure of
how fast an object is rotating. It
tells us the rate at which the object
is changing its angular position.
In linear motion, velocity (v) is defined
as the rate of change of the object's
position with respect to a frame of
reference and time that is, x/∆tv = ∆
while acceleration (a) is the rate of
change of velocity. In symbol, we have:
a= ∆v/∆t ; a= (v₂ - v₁ )∆t
In rotational motion, angular velocity
(ω) is defined as the change in angular
displacement (θ) per unit of
time (t). In symbol, w= ∆ θ/∆t
