    The American Revolution began as tensions rose between the American colonies and Britain in the 1760s and 1770s. Britain imposed taxes on the colonies through the Stamp Act and other legislation to help pay off war debts, despite the colonies having no representation in British Parliament. As discontent grew over "taxation without representation", the colonies began to call for more self-governance. This led to conflict and eventually the American Revolutionary War, culminating in American independence.

    THE AMERICAN

    REVOLUTION
    Members: Juana Killinger, Martina Perez, Luca
    Fenilli & Mara rocha.
     The loss of american colonies was the period when Canada was France, and
    France were often at war with Britain. Men had to be ready to defend their
    homes. They paid taxes to help pay for the troops. In 1763 after Britain victory
    in a war, Britain took Canada from France. The threat to the colonies was
    gone until thetaxes remained. In london was a parliament that fixed the taxes
    and make the laws, the laws on trade said that americans must
    buy imports from British merchants and exports must be sold to British
    Merchants. In colonies people said it was totally unfair, they said they should
    fix their own taxes and made their own laws.
