1ST VIDEO CONFERENCE
• The participants had their first live video conference with their counterparts
‘MARLANT LYCEUM.

• Participants researched the topic well in advance and also prepared a questionnaire
in order to compare their findings with them.

• It helped the participants to know the differences and similarities between the
Waste Management systems in India and in Netherlands.

• It also help to expand their knowledge about Waste management and the ways that
can be implemented to do so in school.
REPORT ON THE VIDEO CONFERENCE
”THE ART OF COMMUNICATION IS THE LANGUAGE OF
LEADERSHIP”- JAMES HUMES
The students of Ramniwas Bajaj English High School and Maerlant-
Lyceum enthusiastically collaborated and discussed on the topic Waste
Management through the video conference initiated and organized by both
the schools as a part of their Eumind Project. Both the schools interacted
through the medium of zoom video conference call and whatsapp group in
order to get acquainted with each other as well as get an idea of the
topic. The video conference was held on 15th January 2024. The students
discussed about three Rs- reduce, reuse and recycle of plastic, the
segregation of waste , steps undertaken by each school to curb the waste
generated also to figure out solutions to the problem in hand that is of
the waste disposal through an interactive session.
The students from both the schools prepared a questionnaire for the
video conference. They had it all planned quite in advance. The students
asked questions about segregation of waste, how each one’s respective
school follows the three RS, factors that lead to waste generation, how
waste is managed by them, the clubs in school which manage it etc.
The students from Maerlant Lyceum said that their school is very strict
and particular about waste management and there are effective measures
taken by them pertaining to waste management.
The students of Ramniwas Bajaj High School also gave in their inputs
about the steps taken by their school as well to manage waste. They did
speak about the clubs in their schools and the community programmes
undertaken to initiate awareness regarding waste management.
For the further discussion, a WhatsApp group was put into action inclusive of the
students and teachers of both the schools.
Students discussed about the activities in their respective schools to reuse plastic and
steps put in place for its segregation. Waste management is an increasingly relevant
issue in today's day and age. We cannot 'use and throw' anymore. The time has come to
ban single use plastic and introduce stringent measures to avoid waste production,
promote reduce, reuse and recycle.
The VC ended on a very positive note when there was a lovely cultural exchange
between both the groups wherein both the groups sang a song related to each one’s
cultural heritage.
It was, therefore an incredibly fulfilling experience for the students of Ramniwas Bajaj
English High School to get an opportunity to interact with their peers from abroad and
get a totally vivid and unique perspective to the challenges that surround that and also
to realize that there are many more than them who are a part of their journey to help
make our planet the beautiful one it is.
They did realize that “The best teamwork comes from men who are working
independently towards one goal in unison”.
Eumind no longer remained a mere project but a vessel of a positive change.
