A FORMAL EMAIL

BACKGROUND
After looking for a worker, now you have chosen the ideal worker
for your business. Write a formal email to inform the candidate
about your decision.
CONTENTS
 Address the candidate and tell him/her some information about
your company (who you are) and inform him/her about your
decision.

 Introduce some of the tasks you do in your company.

 Introduce the policy of your company.

 Arrange a meeting with him/her to discuss further details.


THINGS TO CONSIDER…
 Be formal.

 Since you are talking on behalf of your company, use first person
plural pronouns (we, our, us…).

 Include elaborated connectors to sound formal.

 Write different paragraphs to introduce all the information.

 Introduce the sender (as a company) and receiver.

 Introduce the subject of your email.


IN YOUR WRITING

 Introduce brief information about your business.


 Use present simple to describe some daily tasks.
 Use Modal verbs: have to, don’t have to, must, musn’t to set the policy of your
business.
 Use vocabulary related to PPE Clothing/ Uniform used. (if necessary)
 Arrange a meeting to discuss further details.
 Use connectors (See Resources in AULES).
 Timing: 55 minutes.
 Write between 120-130 words.
