Speed controller
Abstract
• The aim of this project is to maintain perfect traffic speed control system in Road way
using RSU(Road side Unit).

• Based on the broadcast system, the incoming vehicles are alerted with traffic and accident
ahead the road.

• Speed control is not a prevalent feature found in electric vehicles. Many Vehicles
implement a pseudo speed controller that does not include feedback based on sensing
speed.

• speed control can be desirable for driver comfort and safety.

• This paper describes a low cost feedback speed controller for an instrumented electric
Vehicle.
Introduction
• Speed Controller technology has improved our lives.
• Nowadays, most countries are using vehicles . The use of moters over vehicles is always
green for the environment, but an E-bike is the biggest adoption of green transportation of
the decade. Just think E-bikes in place petrol operated scooters rather than normal bikes. An
E-bike uses rechargeable batteries that can travel up to 25 to 60 Kmph.
• Speed controller is a new emerging trend in wireless TPS work on the principle of Hall effect
or inductive sensors communication system.
• It transfers data from one place to another regardless of the distance.
• Combining this technology with ebike smart traffic management, we introduce an efficient
smart city traffic control.

Objective
• The main objective of this project to propose to develop and test a working ebike
controller.
• The ebike controller along with a throttle input, speed sensor for type
speed,switch,motor driver, ebike motor Battery and OLED display to develop the
system.
• We will hereby focus on throttling and speed display part of ebike while
developing this controller. Ebike are the transport medium of our future. We are
moving towards the electric vehicles era leaving behind the fuel based
mechanisms.
Problem Identified

• The drive system is one of the most important parts on an electric Vehicle
. One of the drives used is a permanent magnet DC motor. Unfortunately
Electric motors pose new problems when applied to electric Vehicle
mechanics.
• The first is the heavy load conditions make the setting point missed from
the expected.
• second is the speed response of the bike system to reach steady state is
too slow.
• Therefore a paper with the title Design and Implementation of Permanent
DC Motor for Electric bike Using Fuzzy Method becomes a solution to
solve the problems that arise when integrated
Existing Work
• No Proper Battery switch system current calculations are made during Mode switching

• Speed control is manual not on sensor data

• Data log is not maintained for battery service and fuel ability calculation

• CAN-based centralized controllers are not specially designed which is even our projects' future

• scope to handle day-to-day data

• GPS tracking is not powered by free energy we can modulate the mode speed to recharge the

• system based on the reverse suspension effect


Drawbacks

PROPOSED SYSEM

• Our proposed system works based on the broadcast system.

• In this technique every vehicle is attached with a hardware to alert the control unit

about some obstacle in certain road.

• The Throttle signal is processed by the controller and it then operates the motor

through motor driver. The motor voltage is varied as per throttle values in order to

control its power and speed

• The simplest way to generate a PWM signal is the intersective method, which
requires only a saw tooth or a triangle wave form (easily generated using a simple
oscillator) and a comparator. When the value of the reference signal is more than the
modulation wave form, the PWM signal is in the high state, otherwise it is in the low
stat
Speed Assessment Circuit model

• The digital method involves incrementing a counter, an comparing the counter value with a

pre-loaded register value, or value set by an ADC.

• They normally use a counter that increments periodically and is reset at the end very period

of the PWM.

• When the counter value is more than the reference value, the PWM output will change state

from high to low


Speed Analysis

• There are several IC’s available which converts a DC level into a PWM output.

• Many of these are designed for use in switch mo power supplies. unfortunately, the devices

designed for switch mode power supplies not to allow the mark-space ratio to alter over the

entire 0 – 100% range.

• Many limits the maximum to 90% which is effectively limiting the power you can send to

the motors.
Performances Evaluations

• A power supply is an electrical device that supplies electric power to an electrical load.
• The primary function of a power supply is to convert electric current from a source to the
correct voltage, current, and frequency to power the load. As a result, power supplies are
sometimes referred to as electric power converters.
• The 555 timer IC is an integral part of electronics projects.
• It operates from a wide range of power ranging from +5 Volts to +18 Volts supply voltage.
• • The external components should be selected properly so that the timing intervals can be
made into several minutes along with the frequencies exceeding several hundred kilohertz

Extended Work
• In Industry DC motor is widely uses for speed control and load characteristics, it’s
easy controllability provide effective and precise output.
• Speed control of DC motor is very crucial in application where required

• speed is precision and correcting signal representing and to operate motor at constant
speed.
• The 555 Timer is capable of generating PWM signal when set up in an as table mode.
In this mode, the 555 IC can be used as a pulse width modulator with a few small
adjustments to the circuit
