CSSD stands for Central Sterile Supply Department, responsible for the cleanliness,
disinfection, and sterilization of medical equipment as well as providing equipment for
medical procedures and surgeries.

• CSSD utilizes various tools such as autoclaves,
washer-disinfectors, sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners,
and others for the processes of cleaning,
disinfection, and sterilization.

• The main tasks of CSSD include cleaning,

disinfection, sterilization, storage, distribution,
inventory management, maintenance, monitoring,
and staff training.
