Russia

Russia, the largest country in the world, occupies one-tenth of all the
land on Earth. It spans 11 time zones across two continents (Europe and
Asia) and has coasts on three oceans (the Atlantic, Pacific, and Arctic).
The Russian landscape varies from desert to frozen coastline, tall
mountains to giant marshes.
Moscow capital of Russia

Moscow, on the Moskva River in western Russia, is the nation’s

cosmopolitan capital. In its historic core is the Kremlin, a
complex that’s home to the president and tsarist treasures in
the Armoury. Outside its walls is Red Square, Russia's symbolic
center. It's home to Lenin’s Mausoleum, the State Historical
Museum's comprehensive collection and St. Basil’s Cathedral,
known for its colorful, onion-shaped domes.
Magadan

Magadan, founded in 1929, was a major transit center for political prisoners during
the Stalin era and the administrative center of the Dalstroy forced-labor gold-mining
operation. The town later served as a port for exporting gold and other metals and
was visited by U.S. Vice President Henry Wallace in 1944
St.Petersburg

St.Petersburg is a mecca of cultural , historical, and architectural landmarks. Founded by

Tsar Peter 1 (The Great) as Russia’s “window on Europe”, it bears the unofficial status of
Russia’s cultural capital and most European city, a distinction that it strives to retain in its
perennial competition with Moscow.
