Other Ways to Involve

Parents
PARENTS ALSO HAVE STRENGTH, ABILITIES, INTUITIVE KNOWLEDGE, AND THE
COMMITMENT TO HELP THEIR OWN CHILD. THEY BECOME ADVOCATES OF THEIR
OWN CHILDREN. TO MAXIMIZE THEIR INVOLVEMENT, SCHOOLS PROVIDE OTHER
OPPORTUNITIES SUCH AS PARENT EDUCATION TRAINING, WORKSHOPS, AND
PARENT SUPPORT GROUPS.
Here are the key points for this discussion :

1. Communication Methods:
Investigate varied communication approaches to keep parents abreast
of their child’s advancement and any specialized education endeavors.
 Employ bulletins, online platforms, and periodic meetings to
guarantee an uninterrupted exchange of information between
educators and parents.
2. Parent Seminars and Training:
 Conduct seminars to enlighten parents about specialized
education tactics, the Individualized Education Program
(IEP) procedure, and comprehensive teaching
methodologies.
 Empower parents with the wisdom and proficiencies to
support their child's learning at home.
3. Collaboration Between Parents and
Teachers:
Cultivate a cooperative association between parents and teachers,
underscoring the significance of concerted efforts to craft a
nurturing learning environment.
 Promote transparent communication to handle concerns
and share insights into a child’s maturation and
requirements.
4. Inclusive Functions and Pursuits:
 Coordinate functions that laud inclusiveness, like all-
encompassing sports events, cultural festivities, or art
exhibits, where parents can actively join in and witness
their child's accomplishments.
5. Parental Support Communities:
 Institute communities for parents of children with
comparable needs. These communities can serve as forums
for exchanging experiences, resources, and emotional
support.
 Encourage the formulation of a robust community among
parents confronting akin challenges.
6. Parental Volunteers:
 Greet parents as volunteers in the classroom or during
school occasions. Their proactive involvement heightens the
sense of community and manifests a dedication to inclusion.
7. Feedback Structures:
Forge organized mechanisms for collecting feedback from parents
concerning the efficacy of specialized education programs and the
inclusivity of the school milieu.
 Utilize this feedback to continually refine and adjust
educational approaches.
8. Personalized Collaboration Strategies:
 Draft personalized collaboration blueprints for each
student, delineating particular ways parents can contribute
to their child's educational odyssey based on the child's
distinctive needs.
Here are the two ways in involving parents
in special & inclusive education:

a. Parents education:
 May take the form of providing seminars and workshops
to parents to equip them with a better understanding of
their child’s disability and accompanying strengths,
uniqueness, as well as specific techniques and strategies
that they can practice at home.

b. Parent support groups:

 Are also helpful as parents are able to ask other parents
about tips and techniques to work with their children.
