The historical perspective of bacteria
Bacteria, among Earth's oldest life forms, emerged over 3.5 billion years ago. Early
anaerobic bacteria shaped the planet's environment. Cyanobacteria introduced
oxygen through photosynthesis, triggering the Great Oxygenation Event. The
endosymbiotic theory links bacteria to the origin of eukaryotic cells. Microscopic
observations in the 17th century revealed their existence. Louis Pasteur's germ
theory established their role in disease. The 20th century saw antibiotics
revolutionizing medicine. Bacteria contribute to biogeochemical cycles and play
pivotal roles in biotechnology, genetic engineering, and environmental applications.
Contemporary challenges include antibiotic resistance, emphasizing ongoing
research for effective strategies against bacterial infections.

Life cycle of the parasite
Egg or cyst stage: The parasite begins as an egg or cyst that is excreted from an infected host into
01 the environment
Larval stage: The egg or cyst hatches into a larva, which can either infect a host directly or wait for
02 ingestion by a suitable host
Penetration stage: The larva penetrates the host's skin or mucous membranes and enters the
03 bloodstream or lymphatic system
Migration stage: The larva migrates through the host's body, often causing damage to tissues and
04 organs along the way
Maturation stage: The larva matures into an adult parasite, which may reproduce sexually or
05 asexually within the host

06 Reproduction stage: The adult parasite lays eggs or releases offspring into the host's body

Shedding stage: The eggs or offspring are shed from the host's body, either in feces, urine, or
07 other bodily fluids
Infection stage: The eggs or offspring are ingested by a new host, either directly or through
08 contaminated food, water, or soil, and the cycle begins again
