I’m Francine Babe Aguanza,
from the section Luna. It’ll be
my pleasure to talk about
gender equality to all of you. So
what is gender equality and
why did I choose to talk about it
infront of all of you?
“Gender equality is not voluntary,
It is necessary .”
Introductio
01
n
Gender equality means all people have equal
rights, opportunities, and responsibilities. It is the
complete absence of discrimination and prejudice.
You can do what you want without needing to think of
what society might say. A world without these must
be peaceful, right?
02 Body
We are subjected to discrimination so frequently
that we have grown accustomed to it. Gender
inequality is prevailing in our nation. The world is
changing at a rate that the society’s perspective
cannot. Gender norms have an impact on us in all
aspects, not just physically. It influences our actions,
academic choices, aspirations, and social
interactions.
You should do this,
not that.
Society expects us to do what we are
expected to do. Women belong to the house,
doing household chores and serving their
husbands and kids. Men are expected to be
strong all the time and not show any tears or
weakness. While LGBTQIA+ members are
not accepted because of
their differences from other people. They
are forced to be normal, which is what they
think is being heterosexual.
Why must we comply with these expectations if it’s
not what we want to do? Why must women stay in the
four columns of their chamber when they’re better off
working in the sun or in an office? Why must men
keep their emotions in check when they can cry their
hearts out when they encounter failure? Why can’t the
LGBTQIA+ members be themselves when that’s just
how they are? Why can’t we let people do what they
want?
03 Conclusion
In conclusion, gender equality affects all
of us. In order to achieve it, we must also
make progress. Small progress is still a
progress. We should start normalizing
rights, which seem unusual to the society.
A world with gender equality is a world
with respect and peace.
