the bottle neck effect while

product or technology.

LEADER
• Leaders need to be creative to
be able to lead a group of
people with different expertise
while ensuring the morale of the
team is not effected. This is to
ensure the team can work
together and produce excellent
results.
ENGINEER
• Engineers are creative because it
is essential for coming up with
solutions to problems. Not to
mention it allows them to come
up with many different type of
ideas covering a multi variable
problem.
 Tech-savvy
LEADER
• Leaders should be tech-savvy to
utilize the vast platform of the
internet to grow their business.
• Today every country are trying to
develop high tech technology to
get the upper hand over other
country. Having a tech-savvy
leader is crucial.
• Example: Lazada, Shopee, Amazon
ENGINEERS
• Engineers are required to be
good with technology since the
world in already in a
technological era. Most of the
creation now are implemented
with technology such as cars, air
conditioners, television,
pressure cooker, and many
more.
 EMPATHY
LEADER
• Empathy is important as a leader
to understand how their team is
feeling and how their team
think.
• This will allow a leader to
manage his team efficiently base
on their strength and
weaknesses.
ENGINEER
• Engineer has empathy as they
mostly create invention to
reduce human effort while
maintaining their comfort.
• They are required to think how
their invention is user friendly
and how users can easily use it
without any complication.
 SELF-CONFIDENCE
LEADER
• Leader can not expect their
team to have confident in them
if they don’t have confidence in
themselves first.
ENGINEER
• Engineer need to be self-
confidence to ensure that they
take the necessary steps to
materialize their idea.
• Too much self-doubt will prevent
them from creating anything
new.
 VISION & PASSION
LEADER
• A good leader always have a
vision to achieve. This is to
ensure their team do not
deviate from the main purpose.
• Passion is required to motivate
their team towards reaching the
goal even when the odds are
against them.
ENGINEER
• Engineer also have visions of their
own.
• Example :increasing output in a
manufacturing firm
• Passion in engineering is important
because it serve as a motivation to
do better and to ensure them to
be diligent with the task at hand
till the goal is achieved.
 DECISION MAKING &
ACCOUNTABLE
LEADER
• Leader often are caught making the
toughest decision which could either
improve or destroy their business.
• Therefore, a leader who is good at
decision making is important.
• When things does not goes as plan,
accountability is important to learn
and improve from past mistake. This
will improve their leadership skills in
the future.
ENGINEER
• Engineer are often faced with decision
making as well from what type of
material to use to the very dimension of
the design.
• Good decision making is important
because if the design fails many life may
be lost.
• Taking accountability is important as
well, to ensure future mistakes can be
avoided, and to help them seek the help
that they required to improve themselve.
 PROBLEM SOLVING
LEADER
• Leader need to be good at this
skill to ensure their team work
smoothly and the company does
not face any problem.
ENGINEER
• Engineers face machine failure at
a daily basis. Thus, problem
solving skills is deep-rooted
within engineers.
 TEACHABLE SKILLS
• For the other aspect that constitute a good leader such as emotional
intelligence, active listening, empower others, and ability to delegate
are teachable.
• By attending courses for leadership training anyone can be able to
learn these traits easily.
 CONCLUSION
• To sum up, engineers will serve as better leaders since they already
have what is takes to be a great leader. With a few courses they will
undoubtedly become great leaders.
• Being a leader is different than being a boss.
• Leader lead their team by example while bosses commend instruction
to their team to follow.
• Engineers are people who shows results by doing it hands-on
themselves, rather than instructing others to do what they learnt
theoretically.
• Thus it is unequivocal that engineers will serve as better leaders.
