Session Targets
At the end of the session, participants should be able to gain:

1. deeper understanding of the meaning, principles,


practices, purposes and goals of mentoring in the context
of a learning partnership model;
2. awareness of the essential elements of a quality school-
based mentoring program and the benefits derived from
Session it; and
Objectives 3. appreciation of the Learning Facilitator (mentor) and
learning partner (mentee) qualities as a necessary
component of the learning partnership (mentoring)
program.

Groups are given two minutes to discuss each


of the statements to be flashed. Afterwards,
each member of the group places a “star” on
the Agree or Disagree Line.

LET’S PLAY A GAME!

Each group is given an envelope with a set of


words. Form a quotation from the given
words and discuss among your group what
the quotation means. Share your insights to
the whole plenary afterwards.

GIVE ME A PROBLEM

Each group is given four “problems”, a


cartolina, and markers. The group
discusses and writes what could be the
possible solutions to the problems.

GIVE ME A PROBLEM

After receiving and writing down solutions to


all four problems, the group ranks the
solutions (1 being the most prioritized and 4
being the least prioritized). A group
representative shall discuss the output of
their team.

PROBLEMS:
1. There are not enough qualified Learning Facilitators to
conduct Learning Partnerships.

2. There are not enough interested or willing Learning


Partners to undergo Learning Partnerships.

3. Learning Leaders are not supportive of Learning


Partnership programs.

4. Learning Partners are not cooperative or supportive of


Learning Partnership Programs.
