Objectives of the session
To share major activities done during our
practicum at Health Office, Kathmandu

To share learning reflections of the practicum.

Background
● Comprehensive public health practicum (CPHP) is a practical based learning
designed to provide opportunities for the students to engage and integrate the
theoretical knowledge in a real life professional public health setting in a
specific public health institution.
● We completed four and half months long practicum at Health Office,
Kathmandu from Asoj 2, 2080 BS to Magh 16, 2080 BS.
Objectives of the Practicum

To study the public health programs of the organization, its strengths and concerns.

To apply knowledge and skills of project management cycle (planning, implementation,

evaluation

To apply managerial skills to administer public health services

Approaches of Practicum
The following approaches were used during the practicum period:

I. Review of policies and guiding documents of Health Office

II. Coordination with staff of various sections of Health Office
III. Participation in review meetings, trainings, planning meetings
IV. Performance of daily assigned tasks
