My name is

love
math! ...Bu

Calling all Mathematicians!
These pesky little flies keep flying around the whole
classroom. Trust me I have tried squishing them but they
are just too fast.
The problem is that these flies are not just any ordinary
flies they are math flies, they love math! The only way to
slow them down is to distract them with some awesome
math skills.
All you have to do is solve the math problem and then be
quick enough to swat the right answer on the board (the
fly will be hiding behind the right answer).
Can you use your amazing math skills fast enough and
help me destroy these flies?
Directions
• Take out a white board and get ready to battle your
classmates to see who is the fastest.
• With your team you will solve the problem on the board.
Two people will represent their team and go head to head
each turn.
• The first team to raise their fly swatter and touch the correct
answer on the board will win the points.
• WATCH OUT! If you touch the wrong answer the other team
gets only one chance to answer again and get that fly! (Don’t
let that fly get away!)
• The Fly swatter on each team will rotate each turn and each
fly swatter will need to defend their answer.

Teacher Notes: Here’s some things I did in my classroom when I used this resource- I used fly
swatters that I got from the dollar tree and had my students swat the answer on the board (for
some added fun). I used this as a review before the test.
