Subject is a person or thing that is
being discussed, described, or
dealt with.

Verb is a word used to describe
an action, state, or occurrence,
and forming the main part of the
predicate.

Subjects and verbs must
agree with one another
in number.

BASIC RULE
Thus, if a subject is singular, its
verb must also be singular; if a
subject is plural, its verb must
also be plural.
