entity gains possession or takes over the
ownership of a particular property/equipment
 Refers to the act of acquiring something.
Example; Centrifuge, Microscope, and
Knowledge
PROCESS OF ACQUIRING
EQUIPMENT/INSTRUMENT SUPPLIES
 Acquiring is the process of buying/obtaining an
asset or object.
During acquiring of equipment it is important to
follow the steps as follows
i. Inspecting the equipment/instrument (in
terms of quality, condition and quantity)
ii. Comparing to the purchasing order
 iii.Updating the quantity to the ledger book
and posting the receipt.

POST INSTALLATION, TESTING AND


VERIFICATION OF INSTRUMENT/EQUIPMENT.
 Installation refers to the process where by
equipment/instrument is put or installed for
use. E.g. Chemistry machine or Urine analyzer
 Verification is the method used to check that
the equipment or products meets a set of
design specifications.
It establish the truth, accuracy or validity of
instrument/equipment.
IMPORTANCES;
i. It provide assurance if the
products/equipment have no problems in
start up and operation.
ii. Installation testing helps to check if the
software has been correctly installed.
iii. To understand if the product is working as per
expectations.
