Introduction
• According to Millacci gratitude can play a significant role in parents as having patience is crucial
for them because of challenges they face during the rising of children with disabilities (Millacci,
2023).
• Gratitude is all about appreciating and recognizing the positive aspects, the opportunities you have,
or even the simple pleasures that bring you joy (Geraghty, 2010).
• By cultivating gratitude and patience, parents can enhance their life satisfaction and find strength in
their role as caregivers. Hope and gratitude may be highly relevant positive psychological states,
important to the well-being of parents of children with developmental disorder. Preliminary
research shows gratitude to be a useful self-management technique for supporting parents of
children with physical disabilities (Joshi et al. 2013).
• Initial research has suggested gratitude interventions may be beneficial for parental well-being
(Timmons et al. 2017; Timmons 2015).
• When individuals have a high level of life satisfaction, they tend to practice gratitude, which
helps them focus on the positive aspects of life even in difficult situations. Additionally, having
patience, especially for parents of children with disabilities, can contribute to overall life
satisfaction and the ability to find gratitude in challenging circumstances (Unanue et al, 2019).
• It was stated by Wood et all It's not always easy, but it's important for parents to have patience as
they navigate the ups and downs of raising a child with disabilities. They are truly amazing and
inspiring individuals (Wood et al., 2010).
• It’s indicated that as the quality of family life levels of the parents of children with developmental
deficiencies decrease, parent-child relationships were affected negatively (Alpgan, Ö., & Alabay,
E. 2021).
• When it comes to parents of children with disabilities, patience is like a secret ingredient that can
make a big difference in their lives. It's been found that parents who have higher levels of
patience tend to have a greater sense of satisfaction with their lives and feel more grateful
(Schnitker, 2012).

Rationale
● This study aims to fill this gap by concentrating on gratitude, patience, and life satisfaction,
offering a detailed examination of factors essential to the positive adjustment of parents in this

support systems and interventions.
● Understanding the role of gratitude and patience in fostering life satisfaction can guide the
creation of programs that aim to enhance these qualities in parents, ultimately improving their
overall well-being and the quality of life for both parents and children.
● The insights derived from this research can contribute to the formulation of policies that address
the needs of families with children who have physical disabilities.
● By highlighting the importance of gratitude, patience, and life satisfaction, policymakers can
develop initiatives that promote the well-being of these families and create a more supportive
societal framework.

Assessment Measures
11
Procedure
1. Obtain permission and start research on parents of
children with physical disabilities
2. Use correlational research design to measure
patience, gratitude, and life satisfaction.
3. Select participants through purposive sampling (non-
probability sampling).
4. Administer questionnaires through surveys and
obtain informed consent.
5. Ensure participants' rights to confidentiality and
anonymity.
6. Apply correlation test to analyze the relationship
between variables.
7. Record reliability and validity of results.
12
Ethical Consideration
• The study will safeguard the identity of participants by using codes in data collection and analysis.
• All data, including responses and demographic information, will be securely stored.
• Recognition will be given to the potential emotional vulnerability of parents of children with disabilities. Measures will
be implemented to minimize distress, and resources for emotional support will be provided.
• Research instruments and communication will be designed to be culturally sensitive and respectful of the unique
• Vigilance will be maintained regarding participants' emotional well-being throughout the study.
• Participants will be clearly communicated to regarding their right to withdraw from the study at any point without
Proposed Analysis
