INTRODUCTION
.Creating a chat bot for students to easily access information from the school
website.
.A chatbot is a program which can do real conversations with textual and/or
auditory methods.
. Using Artificial Intelligence (AI), chatbot can simulate human conversations.
. There are two categories of chatbot, viz
1. One category is command based chatbot where chatbot rely on a databank
of replies and heuristics
2. The other category is chatbots based on AI or machine learning algorithms,
these bots can answer ambiguous questions which means the user do not
have to be specific while asking questions.
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM

• Students occasionally encounter difficulties when trying to enroll in new


courses. Even though they are excited about the course, obstacles can arise
from things like sluggish websites and stale interfaces. The number of
inquiries a prospective student has about an institution is frequently quite
significant in their enrollment choice. Universities may find it challenging to
reply to every student with the volume of applications and emails they get.
AIM AND OBJECTIVES
• AIM
• This research aims to develop and integrate an effective Chat-bot to help new and
existing students solve serious of admission issues, payment issues, academic
challenges and answering the very same series of questions at the early stages of
every educational year.
• OBJECTIVES
• 1. To make the Chat-bot to be useful by students to get their queries responded
easily from the university website
• 2.To generate ripples in the academic sector, changing the way students
communicate with their universities website.
• 3. To prove that creating a bot can help increase the rate of retention
JUSTIFICATION

• This research will focus on reducing the complaints of student while using the
school website as the bot build the kinds of relationships that have proved critical
in driving retention, reducing summer melt and improving graduation rates at
universities that implement them effectively.

METHODOLOGY

• Prerequisites
• Microsoft Azure Student Account
• Installation of Git and NodeJS on Windows
• Azure Bot Setup
• Access https://portal.azure.com
• Follow these steps:
• 2.1 Bot Creation
• Click on "Create a Resource" in the left pane.
• Search for "Web App Bot."
• Click "Create" to begin bot creation.
• Fill in the required fields
METHODOLOGY

• 2.2 Adding the DirectLine Channel


• After creating the bot, configure channels (e.g., Skype, Webchat, Slack, Facebook).
• For this project, we will use the DirectLine channel.
• Copy the secret key for service use and click "Done."
• 2.3 Testing the Echo Bot
• With the channel configured, test the bot with a preconfigured template

• Create a LUIS app.
• Configure intents and add training data.

EXPECTED RESULT

• It is expected that Creating a university Chatbot is helpful in guiding students


with correct and most up to date sources of information is advantageous for
international applicants for queries such as fee payment and academic
matters. It is expected that this research can help Students to get the
information from the school at their fingertips rather than visiting university
office.
