 CARRIER AGGREGATION

 Its combination of two component carrier which increase the throughput .

 Here we have Primary component carrier(PCC) and Secondary component carrier (SCC)
 There will be total 5 component carrier that Ue Listen
 So, we have
 5CC=PCC+4SCC
 Primary cell is responsible for the signalling part.
 Primary cell adds or deletes the Scell.
 Primary cell activates or deactivate Scell.
 Here CA depends on various factors
 UE capability
 Scell addition
 Scell activation
 UE CAPABILTY
 Access stratum Release
 if access stratum release having REL10 ,REL11 it means it supports ca.
 UE CATEGORY
• Its means if it supports Cat 6,7,8 its means it supports ca .
 CA BANDWIDTH CLASS
 Here we have bandwidth class.
 (A-1) it means its having only one component carrier.
 (B-2 ) it means its having only two component carrier.
 (C-2) it means its having only two component carrier.
 (D-3) it means its having only three component carrier.
 (E-4 ) it means its having only four component carrier.
 Here we can achieve CA schemes in three ways.
 Intra band contiguous
Primary component carrier PSS and Secondary component carrier SSS have same band..
EXAMPLE = CA-3C
 Intra band non- contiguous
Primary component carrier PSS and Secondary component carrier SSS have same band..
EXAMPLE= CA25A-25A
 Inter band non-contiguous.
P Primary component carrier PSS and Secondary component carrier SSS have Different band..
EXAMPLE=CA25A-41A

SCell Addition and Activation
Scell addition and activation is done in two ways:
1.Blindly
2. Based on measurement report
 Here UE sends its UE capability to p-cell as attach complete .
 UE sends the measurement report to p-cell. then p-cell sends
 RRC Reconfiguration message to UE to Add ScellToAddModList.
 Ue sends RRC Reconfiguration Message Complete
