CHRISTIANITY

THE NEW TESTAMENT

HISTORY 1
CHRISTIANITY started in the 1st century in a land called
Palestine.

 When Jesus was born, Palestine was still under the Roman rule.
 Thus, Christianity was born in an ear when Palestine was ruled
by a foreign power.
JESUS 2
FOUNDER OF CHRISTIANITY.
Preaching and healing in the villages, he started to
preach teachings which were considered revolutionary
at that time.
He criticized the uprightness and insincerity of religious officials and
emphasized that God values service and love.
He taught about the new covenant that God will bring to the
humanity: that sending His begotten Son to save humanity from the
sins and restore the people’s relationship with Him.
SYMBOLS 3
Icthus
The fish is a very old symbol. In the
Greek language the first letters of the
words "Jesus Christ, God's Son, Saviour"
spell “icthus”, which means fish. Today,
Christians may wear a fish badge, or put
it on their car.
SYMBOLS 3
CROSS
Jesus Christ’s victory over sins when
He died on the cross for humanity’s
redemption and salvation.
