Job adverts
Discuss in pairs
• Have you ever had a (student) job? If not, talk about someone you know.

• What kind of job is/was it? Is it part-time? How many hours? What do you have to
do exactly?

• How did you apply for the job? Did you write a letter/e-mail of application? Did
you send your CV?

• What happened during the job interview? What kind of questions did they ask?

• What kind of information do you usually find in a job ad? (for example, job title,
working hours, …)
General information

 Projects will be carried out in groups of 4-5 students.


 Each group will assign a person ‘responsible’ for
uploading the project in Mi Aulario once it is ready.
 There will be a total of 3 projects during our practice,
you should attend class in order to know what to do
and keep informed about deadlines, etc.
 Please refer as well to the syllabus: ‘fechas
importantes’
Project 1
 Task: In groups, invent a company, write a job advert
and publish it in Mi Aulario, espacio compartido.

 Your job advert should be uploaded by:


 Groups A and B: 6th October
 Groups C : 9th October at midday
What is a job advert

 A job advert is an announcement in a newspaper, on


the internet, etc. about a job that people can apply
for.

 Job adverts provide various amounts of information


regarding the company, pay and conditions. It is up to
the candidate to contact the company to find out
more.
Requirements (1)
• Write between 600 and 800 words (1-2 pages)

• Create a company. You are the HR department


in that company. You will write a job advert in
which you introduce the company and the
department, and advertise a position at your
HR department.
Requirements (2)
• Include the following information:
- name of the company
- what the company does/sells
- where it is located (head office,
headquarters, branches…)
- how many people it employs
- company organization (departments)
- organization and duties of the HR
department
Requirements (3)
• The job advert should include:
• An appealing job title
• Intro with a description of the company (see
requirements 2)
• Role responsibilities: JOB post description
• Candidate description: what skills, qualifications or
attributes are you looking for in your ideal
applicant?
• Rewards: salary, benefits…
• Where, how to apply
