Halyna Tkachuk is a writer and
literary critic. She graduated from
the National University of Kyiv-
Mohyla Academy. She is the
author of more than twenty books,
including novels for children,
picture books, educational and
artistic-historical publications.
Among the most famous are the

Shops on Voloska Street”, which
was awarded the LitAccent of the
Year 2014 book rating in the
category “Prose and Poetry for
Children”, the collection of horror
stories “Thirteen Stories in the
