Mein Kampf

(My Struggle)
and Nazism
Introduction of Mein Kampf
• Hitler wrote his book ‘Mein Kampf’ while
he was imprisoned in 1923.
• In the book, he set out his political
philosophy, which developed into Nazism.
1.To relinquish the Treaty of
Versailles
• Hitler accused the Treaty of Versailles as
a deliberate act to suppress the German
race
• So it should be relinquished.
2.To overthrow the Weimar
Government
• The Weimar government accepted the
humiliating Peace Treaty.
• Therefore it should be overthrown.
3.Anti-communism
• Communism emphasized working class
revolution and internationalism.
• It split the society, weakened the state’s
unity, and was against racial superiority.
• Communist activities had to be
suppressed.
4.Anti-semitism
• In the book, Hitler accused the Jews to
have polluted the German race through
intermarriages.
• They had to be wiped out.
5.To build a totalitarian empire
• Hitler believed democracy and
parliamentary government as irresponsible
and incompetent.
• The state had absolute control over all
aspects of life.
• He said the government should be ruled
by the strongest and the most efficient
leader – the ‘Fuhrer’. And all people must
obey the leader.
6.To invade other countries
• Hitler advocated that the Aryan race was
superior to other races, and the Germans
were the most outstanding people among
the Aryan race. Germans were destined to
rule to World.
• Thus Germany should have more living
space.
• Therefore, rearmament and invasion of
the neighboring states were reasonable
and natural.
7.Economic self-sufficient
• In order to build a strong empire and to
prepare for foreign expansion, Hitler
emphasized industrial and agricultural
development.
• And all working people should be under
state control.
