Richard Branson
• Richard Charles Nicholas Branson (born 18 July 1950) is a
British industrialist, best known for his Virgin brand of over 360
companies.
• Branson's first successful business venture was at age 16,
when he published a magazine called Student. He then set up
an audio record mail-order business in 1970. In 1972, he
opened a chain of record stores, Virgin Records, later known
as Virgin Megastores and rebranded after a management
buyout as Zavvi in late 2007. Branson's Virgin brand grew
rapidly during the 1980s—as he set up Virgin Atlantic Airways
and expanded the Virgin Records music label.
• Virgin has expanded into all round Media, Mobile Phones, TV,
and even Space Travel.
James Dyson
• Sir James Dyson (born 2 May 1947), is an
English industrial designer.
• He is best known as the inventor of the
Dual Cyclone bagless vacuum cleaner,
which works on cyclonic separation.
• His net worth in 2008 was said to be
£1.1 billion.
Anita Roddick
• Dame Anita Roddick, DBE (23 October 1942 – 10
September 2007) was a British businesswoman,
human rights activist and environmental
campaigner, best known as the founder of The
Body Shop, a cosmetics company producing and
retailing beauty products that shaped ethical
consumerism. The company was one of the first
to prohibit the use of ingredients tested on
animals and one of the first to promote fair trade
with third world countries.
Jay z

• Shawn Corey Carter (born December 4, 1969), better


known by his stage name Jay-Z, is an American rapper,
songwriter, record producer, entrepreneur, and occasional
actor. He is one of the most financially successful hip hop
artists and entrepreneurs in America, having a net worth of
over $450 million as of 2010.23 He has sold approximately
50 million albums worldwide, while receiving fourteen
Grammy Awards for his musical work, and numerous
additional nominations.

• Jay-Z co-owns the 40/40 Club, is part-owner of the NBA's


Brooklyn Nets and is also the creator of the line Rocawear.
He is the former CEO of Def Jam Recordings, one of the
three founders of Roc-A-Fella Records, and the founder of
Roc Nation. As an artist, he holds the record for most
number one albums by a solo artist on the Billboard 200
with eleven.
Simon Cowell
• Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English A&R
executive, television producer, entrepreneur, and television personality.
He is known in the United Kingdom and United States for his role as a
talent judge on TV shows such as Pop Idol, The X Factor,
Britain's Got Talent and American Idol. He is also the owner of the
television production and music publishing house Syco.

• Upon his appearance on Top Gear, it was revealed that Cowell pays
more than £21.7m per year in income tax, suggesting that his taxable
income is over £54.25m per year with income tax at the time
approximately 40%.7677 (NB: UK Income Tax 40% for earnings over
£34,600). Cowell was estimated to have a fortune of £200 million in the
Sunday Times Rich List of 2011, making him the sixth richest person in
the British music industry.78 Cowell splits his time between homes in
London and Los Angeles.79 He owns a £9million home in Holland Park,
West London,79 and has a £13.7million ($22 m), 11,550 sq ft
(1,073 m2) home in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles
Martha lane fox
• Martha Lane Fox (born 10 February 1973) is an English
businesswoman and charity trustee, who has been engaged as a public
servant chairperson on various e-commerce projects and investigations.
A board member of Channel 4, mydeco.com 1 and Marks & Spencer,
she co-founded Lastminute.com, an icon of the dotcom boom of the
early 2000s. In 1998, Lane Fox and Hoberman founded Lastminute.com
, an online travel and gift business that generated great publicity,
becoming an icon of the UK internet boom
• On 16 June 2009, she was appointed the UK Government's Digital
Inclusion Champion to head a two year campaign 4 to make the British
public more 'tech savvy
• She has argued that "I don't think you can be a proper citizen of our
society in the future if you are not engaged online."
• On 22 March 2010 her government role was expanded when it was
announced that she would set up a new Digital Public Services Unit
within the Cabinet Office.
• She is a patron of Reprieve, a legal action charity, which made the news
during its involvement in the release of UK resident Binyam Mohammed
from Guantanamo Bay.
• Lane Fox is also a patron of Camfed, dedicated to fighting poverty, HIV
and AIDS in rural Africa through the education of girls and young
Guilliano Benetton
• Together with siblings Luciano, Carlo and Gilberto,
formed the clothing retailer The Benetton Group in
1965.

• It was actually Giuliana who started the family's


fashion business, knitting sweaters that brother
Luciano would then peddle by bicycle. Originally sold
under the Tres Jolie label, before it was eventually
renamed Benetton, today the $2.5 billion (2006 sales)
clothing company sells its United Colors of Benetton,
Sisley, Playlife and Killer Loop brands at 5,000 stores
in 120 countries. Guiliana is also a director of
Edizione, the family holding company that owns stakes
in Autostrade, the leading European highway
construction and management company, and Autogrill
restaurants, which serve 890 million customers each
year on highways and in airports in 34 countries.
