2. Graph of functions
3. Line parallel to the axis
4. Interpreting graphs
Functions
What is graph, function and graph of a
function?

Graph: Graph is a diagram showing the

relation between variable quantities,
typically of two variables, each
measured along one of a pair of axes at
right angles.
Let’s take a set of data: (4,5),(8,9), ( -5,-
4), (-2, -3)
Function: Function is an expression or equation based on some condition.

For example: I will give you 10 taka for every 1 USD. So, what’s the relation
between your and my money?
1 USD = 10 Taka ; so, let’s make an expression using it.
If my money is x taka and your money is y USD, then we can write,
y = 10x
The graph of a function is the collection of all ordered pairs of the function. These
are usually represented as points in a Cartesian coordinate system. As an example,
consider the function.

f={(1,2),(2,4),(3,1),(4,3)}
That means, I have to find out the data from the function then draw the graph. The
graph is called the function of graph. Example: for the previous function, I have to
find out different data at first. Then put the data on the graph . Then connect all the
points to draw the graph.
We are in this room. It’s area is 300 . Length is 3 times greater than the
width. Now find out the function, draw the data table and graph.
Structure of the equation: If the graph is linear, the highest power of any variable
must be 1. If it’s smaller or greater than 1 then the graph will be elliptical.
The structure of a linear graph is , y=mx+c

Where, m= slope/ gradiant of the curve

c = a constant value
There is another way to find slope from the graph.
