TYPES OF EVALUATION INSTRUMENT'S


QUESTIONNAIRE OR SURVEYS

The questionnaire contains five basic types of questions.


i) Open-ended
ii) Checklist
iii) Two way
iv) Multiple choice
v) Ranking scales
ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES

The Questionaire has a lot of advantages like- It also suffers from certain limitations like-
• inaccuracy of data • inaccuracy of data
• Efficiency of cost • not very encouraging return rate
• increased honesty due to anonymity
• confidentiality
• optional variety
• the respondents' conscience
INTERVIEW

• Interviews are meetings between an information gatherer


and an information giver.
• This method is very popular especially amongst lower level
workers who are comfortable in vernacular language.
ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES
Interview enjoys advantages like-
It also suffers from limitations like -
• flexibility
• high cost
• Clarification opportunity
• Need of trained observes
• Personal contact
• No anonymity
TEST

• Measuring of learning increase in any programme evaluation is done


through testing.
• Pre- and post-course comparison using tests to measure knowledge
level increase are very common.
• Testing involves written tests, which test the knowledge of the trainee
and performance tests, which allow the trainee to exhibit a skill that is
learnt in training programme.
ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES
It enjoys certain advantages like - Its limitations include -
• Low cost • Psyche threatening
• Quick processing • low relation to job performance
• Ease of administration • Cultural bias
FOCUS GROUPS

• The focus group is a small group discussion conducted by an experienced


facilitator, designed to solicit qualitative judgement of the trainees on the
programme.
• It is an effective method for generating new ideas, it is inexpensive and can
be quickly organised.
• The methods will be effective depending on the selection of the trainees.
OBSERVATION OF PARTICIPANT

• Observing the participant is another method of data collection for


evaluation.
• The observer may be the trainee's supervisor, fellow trainee or one of the
training staff.
• Availability of trained observers and avoiding trainees becoming conscious
of the presence of the observer, etc. make the method
• more effective.
PERFORMANCE RECORD

• It is secondary data available with the department which is readily used for
evaluation purposes.
• This method is indirect.
ADVANTAGES DISADVANTAGES

It has certain advantages like- It suffers from certain limitations like-


• Reliability • System shortcomings
• Objectives • Data not in readily usable form
• Ease of use
• High job relevance
INDIAN INSTITUTE OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP (IIE)

•The IIE was established in the year 1993 at Guwahati by the Ministry of Industry, Government of India as
an autonomous national institute. The institute started its operations from April 1994 with North East
Council (NEC), Govt. of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland and SIDBI.

OBJECTIVES:

⮚ To organize and conduct training for entrepreneurship development.

⮚ To identify training needs and offer training programmes to Government and nongovernment
organizations engaged in promoting and supporting entrepreneurship.

⮚ To document and disseminate information needed for policy formulation and implementation
related to self-employment.
⮚ To organize seminars, workshops and conferences for providing a forum for interaction and
exchange of views by various agencies and entrepreneurs.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTE OF INDIA (EDII):

•The Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad, is an autonomous non-profit institution, set up
in 1983, sponsored by financial institutions, such as Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI), Industrial
Finance Corporation of India (IFCI), Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India (ICICI), and State Bank
of India (SBI).The Government of Gujarat has also provided assistance for the setting up of EDII.

•THE OBJECTIVES OF THE EDII ARE AS FOLLOWS:

⮚ Improve managerial capabilities of small scale industries

⮚ Participate in institution-building efforts

⮚ Sensitize the support environment to facilitate potential as well as existing entrepreneurs to establish
and manage their enterprises.
⮚ Promote micro enterprises at the rural level.
⮚ Inculcate the spirit of ‘entrepreneurship’ amongst youth.
