INTRODUCTION
1. Traffic rule and regulation is the term related to the method used to regulate traffic rules on the road to
reduce the chance of fatal accidents or serious injury

2. while rules of the road are both the laws and the informal rules that may have developed over time to
facilitate the orderly and timely flow of traffic

3. Rules of the road and driving are the general practices and procedures the road users are required are
follow.

4. These rules usually apply to all road users, though they are of special importance to motorists and cyclists.

5. There are various rules that apply to parking as well including maintaining a safe distance between cars,
prevention, of obstruction to other vehicle, no parking on footpaths etc.

• the rule is very important for the safety of both the vehicular traffic and the
pedestrian.

2. Most of the time accidents happen because of lack of traffic rules and
regulations awareness.

3. It is vital to know the traffic rules and regulations in India to ensure the safety of

4. According to the World Health Organisation(WHO), India is one on the top in


the list of nations with highest number of accidents

5. It is very important to increase the level of awareness about the traffic rules
among all citizens.

• Traffic Rules regulates the heavy traffic at intersections to allow other vehicles or
pedestrians to cross it.

2. It helps in providing a continuous movement of traffic at a certain


speed

3. It helps in reducing the frequency of various types of accidents or crashes, most especially
the right angle collision.

4. It increases the traffic handling capacity of a certain intersection.


DISADVANTAGES OF RULES

• There is an increase in the use of less - inadequate streets to avoid traffic
signals

2. There are some drivers that disobey the signals and rules.

3. There is an increase in traffic congestion, fuel consumption, and air


pollution.

4. There is an excessive delay because of the time allocated in the traffic


rules.
SURVEY
NEW DELHI: Nearly 95% of car drivers with valid licence don’t have even 50%
knowledge and awareness about traffic safety rules, according to a recent survey
conducted by an automobile company.
Drivers of Delhi and Bengaluru scored the least among six cities where the survey was
undertaken while drivers from Kolkata and Chennai got the maximum scores.
According to the interview based survey of 1,561 car drivers by Ford India, “Cartesy
2.0”, the respondents were asked to answer 31 questions with multiple choices as it’s
done by the RTOs. Applicants scoring 60% mark during such tests by RTOs are granted
the learner’s licence.

CONCLUSION
• Traffic laws are designed to protect you and other drivers on
the road. If we do not follow them, we are putting innocent
bystanders and drivers at risk.

are proven to be related to the number of crashes.
