• Griffith has a controversial legacy. Despite criticism,
he was a widely celebrated and respected public
figure during his life, and modern film historians
continue to recognize him for his contributions to
the craft of filmmaking. Nevertheless, many critics
during his lifetime, as well as in the decades since
his death, have characterized him and his work
(most notably The Birth of a Nation) as upholding
white supremacist ideals. Historians frequently
cite The Birth of a Nation as a major factor in
the KKK's revival in the 20th century, and it remains
controversial to this day.

Who are you writing for? What does that tell

you about the language you need to use?
Exactly 100 years ago, in the year 1924, DW Griffith said,
I quote: “In the year 2024 the single most important
thing which the cinema will have helped in a large way
to accomplish will be that of eliminating from the face of
the civilized world all armed conflict.” In this essay we
will be checking if he was right, did the cinema succeed
in doing so? And was it even meant to?

Introduction In this day and age, cinema has become an essential

part of life, entertaining people around the world.
However, when it was introduced, many people believed
it would be more than just a new art form. These
hopeful people heralded cinema as an agent of world
peace. A hundred years later, it is clear that cinema has
failed in that regard.

• Donald Trump's fed trial on election interference postponed from March (

• Trump's first impeachment took place after a formal House inquiry
found that he had solicited
foreign interference in the 2020 U.S. presidential election to help
his re-election bid, and had then obstructed the inquiry itself by
telling his administration officials to ignore subpoenas for
documents and testimony. The inquiry reported that Trump withheld
military aid[a] and an invitation to the White House from
Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy in order to
influence Ukraine to announce an investigation into Trump's
political opponent Joe Biden, and to promote a
discredited conspiracy theory that Ukraine, not Russia, was behind
interference in the 2016 presidential election
• The House of Representatives of the 117th U.S. Congress adopted
one article of impeachment against Trump of "
incitement of insurrection", stating that he had incited the
January 6 attack of the U.S. Capitol. These events were preceded
by attempts by Trump to overturn the 2020 presidential election, as
well as his pushing of voter fraud conspiracy theories
on his social media channels before, during, and after the election.
