Introduction

• A modern average- to large-sized

hospital will contain somewhere
Essential Medical Equipment
between 5,000 and 10,000 different
types of medical devices. Hospitals
and healthcare facilities must make
1. Diagnostic imaging equipment
sure that their vital medical 2. Laboratory equipment
equipment is secure, precise, 3. General electro-medical equipment o
dependable, and performing at the Portable electrocardiograph
necessary level. In order to 4. Other support equipment
accomplish these goals, hospitals
must create and enforce a Medical
Equipment Management Program
(MEMP) that outlines the risk
management of medical equipment
sure that their vital medical
equipment is secure, precise,
dependable, and performing at the
necessary level.
Medical Equipment Management

1. Life Cycle of Medical

This program outlines processes Equipment
and guidelines for managing
operations involving medical 2. Planning
equipment, from choosing and 3. Acquisition
purchasing it to decommissioning 4. Delivery and Incoming
it. MEMP guarantees that Inspection

patients, deliver trustworthy and
accurate information to physicians, 6. Installation, Commissioning
and be utilized to the best extent and Acceptance
possible 7. Training
8. Monitoring
9. Maintenance
10. Replacement and Disposal
Preventive Maintenance of Medical Equipment

• Medical devices are frequently intricate, repairable

systems made up of numerous interacting parts that
carry out a system's essential responsibilities. When
a system is repairable, it can be repaired or replaced
if necessary to get it back to working properly
• Acceptance Test
• Operational Check
• Safety and Performance Inspection (SPI)
Problem statement

• sometimes it appears that the

decision-making process is
somewhat complicated because
there is a large group of medical
devices and they have many
obligations and requirements, or the
lack of accurate data to meet these
requirements or the misdistribution
of existing resources
Aim and objectives of the project

• The objective of this project is to determine the

maintenance priorities for medical equipment
through the Analytical Hierarchy Process.
1. A questionnaire comparing medical devices
2. Determine the criteria to be compared
3. Converting this questionnaire into numbers
according to certain equations so that can deal with
it
4. Create tables showing priorities based on the above
Literature Review

Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP)

• Making decisions requires criteria and a range of options. The

relevance of the criteria varies frequently, and our
preferences for the options on each criterion also vary. need a
mechanism to measure in order to make these tradeoffs and
decisions.
Absolute measurement •This method involves assigning absolute values to the pairwise comparisons. For example, a decision-maker may rate one criterion as being "twice as important" as another criterion

Pairwise comparisons •The questions AHP uses to elicit Preference information about alternatives Usually in the form 'any of the alternatives

Development of the AHP hierarchy •Developing an AHP hierarchy involves breaking down a complex decision-making problem into smaller, more manageable parts. This can help identify key factors or criteria to consider
when making a decision
Collection of data and Conducting the AHP analysis

• Data collection in the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is

the process of compiling details about a decision problem
and the standards used to assess potential solutions.

• Prioritization of Medical Device Maintenance

• Collecting Data for Medical Device Maintenance

•Development of the AHP hierarchy in

Discussion

Note in the previous table

that there are some
important criteria that have
been adopted for many
medical devices, which is
the highest rule on the basis
of which the device is
chosen or classified as
having priorities for
presence, maintenance, or
has no priorities
Design Constraints

At first, we had difficulty understanding

the project in general. He gave us a lot of
explanations, followed us well, then
distributed the tasks between us until
they were completed, and here each of us
decided to work on his questionnaire and
consult the specialists …….
Conclusion and Future Work

Conclusion
In conclusion talk about everything that was
done in this project with the benefit of it, and
here our team made questionnaires and
followed the AHP method in order to
determine the appropriate criteria and draw
priority tables based on these criteria, and
thus determined the priorities of the devices

future work
In the future, it is possible to expand the
work of questionnaires and create tables, and in
this way, medical device engineers can make
correct decisions and help organize work in
hospitals or companies. These expansions are
represented by following the AHP method of
procurement, for example with setting different
criteria of course.
