SYSTEM UNIT
• Also known as the
POWER HOUSE of the
Computer.
• It's typically a rectangular
box that contains important
parts like the Motherboard,
CPU, RAM, and storage
drives.
• Perform operations and
produce results for complex
calculations.
SYSTEM CASE
• Also known as SYSTEM
CHASSIS.
• Serves as the RIBCAGE of
the system unit
• PROTECT all the sensitive
parts of the computer
system unit like
Motherboard, CPU, RAM,
and some storage devices
SYSTEM FAN • The Cooling System of
the System Unit.
• It is usually attach in the
SYSTEM CASE.
• Helping to maintain the
good temperature of System
Unit for better
PERFORMANCE.
CPU
• Central Processing Unit
• Some call it Processor or
Microprocessor.
• The BRAIN or BOSS of
the computer.
• Responsible for all data
processing, carry out
commands, receive
instructions and
operation.

The 2 companies that manufactured CPU
Types of CPU 1.SECC
• Single Edge Contact
Cartridge.
• It is an element that is present in the
central processing unit which is designed
to carry the Intel microprocessors such as
Pentium II and Pentium III, Celeron, and
Pentium Pro.
• It is also known as Slot 1 because it is
inserted into Slot 1 on the motherboard.

Parts of SDD vs HDD
FDD
Floppy Disk Drive
• An old piece of computer
hardware that reads and
writes data on Floppy Disk.
• Can only store a maximum
of 1.4 Mb (megabytes) of
data. Floppy
Disk
The floppy disk, also known as diskette, is a
removable magnetic storage medium that
allows recording of data. IBM first
introduced it as a 8-in diskette in 1971.
CD-ROM
Also known as Optical
Drive or CD Drive
• A piece of computer
hardware that reads and
writes data on optical
discs like CD and DVD.
• In the new design of
computer,
POWER SUPPLY
• SUPPLY different voltage to the
different parts of System Unit.
• Convert AC (Alternating
Current) to DC (Direct Current).
• To convert electric current from a
source to the correct voltage,
current, and frequency to power
the load.
Expansion Card
• also known as an Expansion
board or Add-on card
• These cards provide additional
features and capabilities that the
computer's basic configuration
may not have initially included.

• Also known as Graphics
Card.
• DVI port, VGA port, and
HDMI port are present on this
card.
• Is a computer expansion card
that produce/generates a feed
of graphics output to a display
device such as a monitor and
Video Card
Mother Board
• The main printed circuit board
of the computer.
• It HOLDS all the computer
peripherals in the system unit.
• It is a computer's central
