MEDIEVAL DOCTOR

WHAT A MEDIEVAL DOCTOR

WAS AND DID?

• A medieval doctor was a specialist who tried to cure

people’s diseases. There were 3 types of specialists:
doctors, monks or herbalists, and that you try to cure
a doctor was the worst of the 3. Since they were
based on amulets and dark theories related to «body
leftovers» which led to amputations or drains of blood
that caused the death of the patient. They thought
that diseases were a punishment for sins committed
and if people got sick they deserved it, still the doctor
tried to cure them and if this happened it was
because it was God’s wish
