What is Year plan ?

An annual is an operational plan that indicates


specific goals and objectives for a particular
program or a program with specific time frames. It
often includes a detailed plan outlining which
activities will be accomplished, by when and by
whom.
Why do I need a yearplan ?

 A year plan will help make sure you will teach


what you need to teach!
 It provides a roadmap for your year.
 Help you pace your content.
 Organizes what you’re teaching and when.
 If you will have testing , your yearlong plan will
help you plan test prep.
Annual plan would Reflect the
following Aspects
 What – Units and Sub units in the syllabus
 Why – Objectives of Teaching Geography
 How – Learning Materials ( Textbook,Maps ,
charts,models,Teaching resources, and the related
activities.
 - Assessment strategies and tools (in class
assessment, homework
 -Unit end assignments and projects and various
tests.
 When- Available time periods and classes based on total
instructional days.
Preparation of Year plan
 Year plan->Subjectwise->Monthwise->Unitwise->Period
wise->Other co-curricular
activities(Programs,Project,fieldtrip,Competitions).
 Consider holidays
 Consider School Programs like Independence day,Annual
day,Sport meet etc.
 Consider the examination.
 All the teacher of the subjects should plan and prepare it
together for more objectivity.
 Concentrate on Topics ,subtopics,Points Subpoints.
 Should be flexible.

Importance of Year plan/Annual
Plan
 The year plan act as the guideline for the entire academic
year.
 The Teacher will have a clear cut picture of distribution of
syllabus into various units.
 He will Know the time in terms of instruction hours,given
to each of the units.
 He will be able to foresee and plan how he must distribute
emphasis between cognitive ,Affective and Psychomotor
domains for different units.
 The year plan serves as the base or foundation for the next
piece of planning i.e. Unit Planning and Lesson Planning.
