Liquids state and its charecteristics

By: Durva Vichare

THE LIQUID STATE
 Liquids have no fixed shape but have a fixed volume.
They take the shape of the container in which they are
kept.
 Liquids flow and change shape so they are not rigid but
can be fluid
 A liquid is made up of tiny vibrating particles of matter, such as atoms, held
together by intermolecular bonds

 The liquid state particles move freely and have greater space between each
other as compared to particles in the solid state

 The distinctive property of liquid state is surface tension, leading to wetting

phenomena. Water is by far the most common liquid on Earth .

 Liquids require a relatively narrow temperature/pressure range to exsits.
