Conversation – 1 A – 1 B (5 minutes) (Groups of 3)

You are in a university class. You don’t know many people. But you
start a conversation with one partner. Then that partner introduces
you another partner. Create an example of that conversation. Be
natural and use the atmosphere to make your conversation more
enriching.

Example: Hi there! My name’s…What’s your name? / Where are


you from? /This is my friend, …. / Are you married? , etc.

Show interest: Really? Wow! Nice! Interesting! OK! I didn’t know


that, etc.

Objective: Learn to talk about where you are from & people you
know.
Grammar: Be positive, negative, questions & short answers.
Vocabulary: Countries, Nationalities & Adjectives
Conversation – 1 C (5 minutes) (Groups of 3)

You are at the Student Enquiry Centre. One of you want to enrol in a
remedial class for the Marketing Class. The other wants to attend a
Conference from Graphic Design. The secretary will ask you many
questions. Both of you need to answer those questions. Create an
example of that conversation. Be natural and use the atmosphere to
make your conversation more enriching.

Example: What time’s the remedial class?/ Where’s the


conference? /Can I wear casual clothes? /Do I need to bring my card
every day?/ etc.

Show interest: Really? Wow! Nice! Interesting! OK! I didn’t know that,
etc.

Objective: Learn to ask for and give information

Vocabulary: Booking a class in a Sports Club
Conversation – 2A (5 minutes) (Groups of 3)

Have a conversation about your Jobs or the Jobs of someone you


know. You can use these verbs in your conversation to make questions
and answer them: work, drive, have, like, study, speak, go, start,
leave, know, etc. Be natural and use the atmosphere to make your
conversation more enriching.

Example: What time do you start work? / Do you speak another


language at work?/ Do you know someone who studies English
like you?, etc

Conversation – 2C (5 minutes) (Groups of 3)

You are with your friend at Domino’s ordering a pizza when someone calls
you. You pick up the pone and it’s your friend. He/She needs help with
his/her computer. He/She asks you to come and see you tomorrow. You
need to say you are free or busy. It’s your decisión. Be natural and use the
atmosphere to make your conversation more enriching.

Example: Do you want an American or Hawaiian Pizza? / Would you


like anything to drink? / Ring Ring/ Hi Josh/ Sorry to call you in your
day off/ Don’t worry / There’s a problem with my computer. /Come on
Saturday for lunch/ etc.

Show interest: Really? Wow! Nice! Interesting! OK! I didn’t know that, etc.

Objective: Learn to talk about study habits.
