Chandrayaan-1, India's first mission to Moon,


was launched successfully on October 22,
2008 from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota.
Chandrayaan-1 failed after successfully
completing its operations for 312 days and
achieved 95% of its planned objectives.
Chandrayaan-1 was the first Indian lunar
probe under the Chandrayaan programme

Chandrayaan-2, is the second lunar


exploration mission developed by the Indian
Space Research Organisation, after
Chandrayaan-1.
Three Mission Objectives
MISSION COMPONENTS
LANDER MODULE
• Chandrayaan-3 consists of an indigenous propulsion module, lander
module, and a rover with an objective of developing and
demonstrating new technologies required for inter-planetary
missions.
• The indigenous Lander module is the centerpiece of Chandrayaan-3.
• Propulsion Module (PM) carries the Lander and Rover configuration
to a 100 km lunar orbit.
