may refer to something we own, or it may
refer to something which is a part of us.
Forming the POSSESSIVE of a SINGULAR
Noun
To make a singular noun

possessive, add ‘s.


Example:
• Madam Julia's advice.
Forming the POSSESSIVE of a PLURAL Noun

If the plural noun ends in an “S” ,


add s’.
Example:
• The sharks’ teeth.
REMEMBER!
➜ All singular nouns are made possessive by adding ‘s.
➜ If the plural noun ends in an “S”, add just an apostrophe
s’.
