 INTRODUCTION
Nowadays, many people around the world will do anything to save some space.
According to Cheng, L. L. (1980), for people in Taiwan, finding methods to reduce space
and use it more effectively has become a top priority. Some Filipinos want their home or
their environment to be clean and tidy, as if it were part of their overall hygiene.
www.johnjonas.com says that everybody cleans their house. It is a common occurrence.
Everybody has mops, rags, and brooms.
The bathroom rack we have made is very durable because it is made from stainless
steel, which is resistant to corrosion. In a study taken from
www.thyssenkropp-materials.co.uk (n.d.), stainless steel is extremely resistant to rust and
corrosion because of the protective layer that is formed when chromium reacts with airborne
oxygen. Our bathroom rack can also make someone's bathroom visually appealing. The
website www.decorpot.com (n.d.) says that designs for bathroom shelves present a chance to
improve the room's overall appearance.
 INTRODUCTION

Therefore, the main motivation of this research is to

make an affordable and versatile bathroom rack for those who
want to save money and, at the same time, have versatile
furniture for bathrooms. In addition, we also wanted to know
the usability and durability of the bathroom rack we made.
 SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The general problem of our research is to find out the durability and
usability of our Aqua Shelf. Our specific questions include the
following:
1. What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of:
a. Age?
b. Sex?
c. Education?
d. Employment status?
e. Profession?

2. What is the (a) durability, (b) usability rating of Aqua Shelf as
assessed by skilled welders?
3. What is the (a) durability, (b) usability rating of Aqua Shelf as
assessed by Grade 12 TVL SMAW students?
4. Is there a significant difference between the (a) durability, (b)
usability rating of the Aqua Shelf as assessed by skilled welders and
Grade 12 TVL SMAW students?
5. Is there a significant relationship between the respondents’
willingness to buy the product and their profession?
 RESEARCH HYPOTHESIS
In this research, we have made our own hypothesis:
Ho: There is no significant difference between the (a)
durability, (b) usability ratings by the skilled welders and
Grade 12 TVL SMAW students.
Ha: There is a significant difference between the (a)
durability, (b) usability ratings by the skilled welders and
Grade 12 TVL SMAW students.
 METHODOLOGY
Name of Product: Aqua Shelf
Primary Variable: Durability and usability
Instrument to be used: 5-point Likert scale (5 per variable)
Respondents: Skilled welders and Gr. 12 TVL SMAW
(independent)
Selection of respondents: SRS for Gr. 12 TVL SMAW
Snowball sampling for skilled welders
Total Population: N is infinite population (uncountable)
Sampling size method: Cochran’s formula for Likert scale
Sample size: n = 100 (35 skilled welders; 65 TVL SMAW)
