WHAT IS LOPC ?

LOPC refers to spills and leaks of chemicals.

Specifically, this performance metric includes the following :

- Spills of any material other than water or a smaller spill that


causes injury,(example; ‘Product’) that can affects the
community.
WHY LOPC ?

LOPC is stand for ( Lost Of Primary Containment )

Shell Group rules dictate that all LOPC’s over 10kg (litres) are
to be reported.

HSSE Managers are responsible for ensuring the following


process is followed (although the actions may be carried out by
others dependent on the circumstances of the LOPC)

 Currently reports were sent to Shell only, there should be a


sharing of E2E investigation results to all parties

 Make use of the current depository to share learning with


partners, in the format of LFI Bulletin (
https://secure.shell.com/home/content/hsse/ )

 Investigation reports should be completed by responsible


Engineering partner (e.g. PMC for NTIs or Upgrade projects,
FMC for operational sites recommissioning after planned
maintenance works)
