Prepositions of place
We use prepositions of place to talk about the position of a thing or a person.
There are three people in the room.
The computer is on the table.*
The photo is on the wall.*
Your phone is under the book.
The cinema is between the park and the supermarket.
The chair is in front of the television.
My flat is opposite a school.
Mexico City is in the middle of Mexico.
The fridge is on the left/right.
* Note the two uses of on.

Plural nouns
To make most nouns plural, we add - Some nouns are irregular.
s. man → men, person → people
car → cars
Other nouns have no plural.
After nouns ending in -ch, -sh, -s, -ss sheep → sheep
and -x, we add -es.
In adjective + noun and noun + noun
watch → watches
combinations, we only make the
brush → brushes
second word plural.
bus → buses
mobile phone → mobile phones
boss → bosses
train station → train stations
box → boxes
With nouns ending in consonant + -y,  Exercise 4
we change the -y to -ies.
party → parties
With nouns ending in -f and -fe, we
change the -f or -fe to -ves.
life → lives

We use this and these to talk about people and things that are near to us. We
use this + singular noun and these + plural noun.

We use that and those to talk about people and things that are far from us.
We use that + singular noun and those + plural noun.

We can also use this, that, these and those before a noun.
